BDSM Consent & Negotiation

Consent is the cornerstone of all BDSM, kink, and fetish play. This goes beyond simply saying “yes” or “no” to proposed activities. Establishing clear consent includes knowing the risks of the kinky play you’re doing, agreeing on safe words, and more.  Typically, before a BDSM scene or relationship dynamic begins, partners negotiate their likes and limits to see where their desires match up. Because this process can be complex, it’s often done in writing using negotiation worksheets. There’s no one right way to negotiate kink scenes or establish consent. Most people tailor their BDSM negotiation style to what best suits their individual needs. These are some of our favorite free Kink Negotiation Sheets and Yes/No/Maybe lists. You can use them as is or to draw from in creating your own.  In addition to working through these BDSM negotiation tools with partners, you can use them alone for self-discovery or as inspiration for creative BDSM scene ideas.
